This filthy river outside the hospital has had these same trash items stuck in the foliage for around 6 months. There are two road cones on the banks and a filthy mattress underneath the bridge with loads of trash that is NEVER cleaned away. It is only cleared by wind or rain, never by the council. I work with three councils and there is something very wrong and broken in the Lewisham council. The staff who service this area are not trained properly. I’ve reported the street cleaners in this area a few times and nothing has been done for months. It’s NOT that they need to come more often, it’s that when they DO come, they don’t clean at all. These small patches of grass parks have never been properly cleaned since i moved in 3yrs ago. Here are pictures of the filthy bin area, a the grass patch covered in litter, and the street cleaner has just been there and is now moving on. This is relevant for the entirety of this area.
