I am reporting a serious and ongoing accumulation of waste/fly-tipping immediately adjacent to a ground-floor residential property beside Monmouth House.

This has been ongoing for well over a month and has progressively become worse. Large quantities of waste continue to be dumped in the same area, including mattresses, sofas and other furniture, cupboards and shelving, doors, timber/wooden panels, refuse bags and general household waste. The area is now heavily overflowing with dumped items.

This is not simply an isolated item of fly-tipping. It appears to be an ongoing waste-management problem, as items continue to accumulate without the area being properly cleared. There is also animal faeces in and around the area, unpleasant smells coming from the waste, and a rat/rodent has been seen on the street immediately beside the waste.

This is particularly concerning because the waste is immediately adjacent to a ground-floor residential property. The windows of the property are directly beside and overlook the accumulated waste, meaning the smell and potential pest activity are affecting the immediate residential environment.

I have attached one photograph showing the current extent of the waste. As the reporting system only permits one image to be uploaded, further photographs documenting the condition of the area over time cannot be attached to this report but are available if required.

Photographic evidence dates back to 27 August 2026, by which point the problem had already been ongoing for approximately a month. Further photographs taken on 11 September 2026 show that the waste has continued to accumulate and the situation has worsened rather than being resolved.

The council’s reporting system also shows an existing report at or very close to this location concerning waste on private property, currently marked “In Progress.” This indicates that the problem has previously been reported and remains unresolved.

Given the duration of the problem, the continuing accumulation of waste, evidence of rodent activity, animal faeces, unpleasant odours and the extremely close proximity to residential accommodation, please could this be treated as requiring prompt investigation. I would ask that the council establish who owns or manages the land and take appropriate action to have the waste cleared and prevent continued dumping.-39 Avignon Road, London, SE4 2JS
