Near 260 Kirkdale, London, SE26 4RS

Lewisham London Borough - Sydenham

Description

the car (LY72 JRX) in the attached photo was parked across the pavement i.e with the boot by the kerb and the engine pointing at the buildings on Kirkdale. It was alongside the drive into Kirkdale House but not on the drive itself. In other words the car was blocking the pavement but cars could still access Kirkdale House.

I saw the driver go into the chemist as I was walking toward the greengrocer on Sydenham Rd. I came back via Bishopsthorpe Rd / Silverdale and found the car was still blocking the pavement when I came back.

I took a photo of the car and because of the tinted windows only noticed the driver was back in the car after I took the photo. When I went to the car the driver asked if I had taken a photo of her in her car. When I explained that parking on the pavement is illegal in London she told me I was fucking weird (which is fair enough). I noticed a disabled parking sticker in the front windscreen but there was no-one in the car except the driver (a young, large, short black woman).

As she drove off up Kirkdale (toward Forest Hill) she shouted at me that she had taken a video of me and I will "get stabbed in my neck". I shall put this incident on the Met website in case anything happens.

A large fig tree overhangs the public highway and is dropping a significant quantity of fruit onto the road and pavement. Hundreds of figs have been left to rot on the ground, creating a strong smell and attracting a very large number of flies. This is a recurring problem each year when the tree fruits. The flies are making nearby residents' gardens unpleasant to use, and at my property there are so many flies that we often cannot open our windows or comfortably enjoy our garden.

Based on the amount of fruit visible on the public highway, I strongly suspect there is also a substantial amount of fallen fruit within the garden itself, although I cannot see this to confirm it. If so, this may also be contributing to the fly problem and should be investigated.

The tree is located in the rear garden of 9 Winn Road. To locate the affected public area, enter Danscombe from Winn Road and take the turning on the right leading to the garages. The rotting fruit is clearly visible on the ground in this area. Photos are attached.-9 Winn Road, London, SE12 9ET
