Council-owned tree fallen into private garden and damaged boundary fence.<br/><br/>A large tree originating from Lewisham Council-owned land has fallen across the boundary into the rear garden of 53 Chudleigh Road, London, SE4 1JX.<br/><br/>The tree has broken and displaced sections of our boundary fence and is now spread across a substantial part of the garden. The trunk and several large branches remain in place, and we are concerned that parts may still be unstable and present a risk to anyone entering the garden.<br/><br/>Please arrange an urgent inspection, confirm that the tree is under Lewisham Council’s ownership and arrange for the tree, trunk and branches to be made safe and removed.<br/><br/>The fallen tree has also caused damage to private property, including the boundary fence. We will separately notify Lewisham Council’s Insurance and Risk team regarding the property damage.<br/><br/>Date discovered: 31/05/2026<br/><br/>Council land/location where the tree originated: Used to be a stream behind our garden.
